Alright, Im just about ready to do the MechAssault trick and load up a soft EvoX, and I was wondering exactly what should I do before hand? I would like to make a backup of my hard drive because I am a big X-Box Live gamer (on occasions) and would like to be able to revert whenever I wanted. Is there a way to do this? Or are there images I can use to do this? And most importantly, is it easy to restore it?

Its hard to say, it really is a personal choice.

I would suggest reading thru both the methods and picking the one you feel comfortable with.

UDE is newer method... wink.gif

Okay, how bout this...

What would be easier to not be caught by MS on X-Box Live, and to use the USB Thumb drive trick?

the worst part about UDE is if you want to play live you have to disable UDE, then if you want to use it again u have to do the gamesave thing again, but UDE is noob friendly (autoinstaller)

How do I identify what BIOS I have, or what version dashboard I have? I purchased the X-Box in January 2003 if that helps...?

UDE is the route to go.

I did my research before I even had an Xbox.

I got my Xbox, and immediately softmodded it by hotswapping it with UDE. It was DAMN easy. If anything, the memory card route is 50% easier, at the cost of the Action Replay and whatnot.

Where can I get memcard UDE package?

Oh and I was planning on using the USB thumb drive with the Phantasy Star Online USB Adaptor as my memory card to make the cost even cheaper. wink.gif
