I am newbie to this website and I have a question to ask you pros. So I have xbox v1.0 and I've heard from some people that Xenium Ice solderless won't work good on xbox v1.0-v1.2 so should I buy the solderless one or should I wait for Xecuter 3? <- because this is another modchip I desire biggrin.gif

DISCLAIMER: I am a noob. I am no pro.

Sounds like your right on track as far as what chip to buy.(you will be the 1 that ultimately decides what chip is best for you and what you want to do with your modded xbox.)

My only advice would be to solder it.
if you don't know how. Try to learn.
If you don't want to learn. Find somebody who will.do it for you (Dad, uncle, friend, or trusted neighbor.)
Soldering will save you a ton of headaches. (so i was told.)

If you get a xenium ice and you decide to solder use the quick solder method.( my 2 cents.)
I did the pin header install on the xenium w/ a ver 1.0 xbox, and regret it. It was a whole lot of xtra work.

There are no problems with a 1.0 and a solderless chip. Soldering is always better but if you are going to do a solderless a 1.0 will not be a problem.

I've got a solderless chip in my V1.0 box and never had any problems with it.
