Hi
I was looking at doing the on/off doorbell mod here in the tutorial it says it must be the type that uses 2 c batterties but all i have found in my area work off 3 AA size batteries is there any way to use this type of doorbell or should i keep looking?

I tried many, many times to make that mod work...It works very good for turning on the console...however turning off never works unless your a foot away from console.
I tried everything...wrapping receiver with tinfoil, extending antenna.
I suggest the xir mod.
Or if you dont wanna wait you can do This mod It'll cost another $5 more than the door bell but it works every time like its supposed to.
You dont have to use xbox remote but I think it looks better.

it needs the kind with 2 c batterties but dont even bother.
i too tried many different things to get this mod to correctly function wiht no success.
just do the controller power button mod. its much cheaper, a lot easier, and it works!

Yes...but thats not wireless.
The xbox I have in my media room hasn't seen a controller in over a year...Remote/dongle Is what works best for xbmc,mp3,dvd playback in my case.
Only thing missing is power on/off...And thats a big thing.
Again...search for XIR mod.
Good luck!

So what your saying is forget the doorbell it dosnt work but thanks anyway. And i dont really want to drill holes in my large controller. And my small controller has no space.
I was also thinking is there a wireless RF switch or not (ive looked but not found).
Also i dont have a remote.
