Unreal Championship has wmv files as the videos unlike most having bik's or sfd's. Since I only have 650meg CD-RW's, I need to downsample them because the game is 709 meg. I can't find any wmv downsamplers, can anyone help me? And yes I am sure they are wmv's becauase I played them in windows media player.

Try Windows Media Encoder. It's a free download at MS.com.

Okay, the forum software evidently thinks I'm a dumbass and assumed I meant to post a link to Morgan-Stanley instead of MS.
Let's try this... Here

EDIT: Honestly, what the fuck...

Looks you fell victim to the same thing I did. You can't type M.i.c.r.o.s.o.f.t without it automatically abreviating it for you.

Ok. I got it now. I did a quick search and can't find any guides to downsampling it to a 'decent' quality. Anyone know how to downsample it do a quality where it is viewable?

I just downloaded to test it out for you. You can enter the exact res and bitrate you want. Not sure what else you're looking for...

Ah, I figured it out now. I wasn't defining an output as a file. One last question, what bitrate and resolution do you recommend to get it down to around half its normal size?

Thanks for your help Xeero.

I have no clue when it comes to this shit. I was never any good at DVD ripping with all the re-encoding and calculations and shit. Blah! Try searching the internet for "wmv" AND "calculator" AND "bitrate" to see if you can find something. I couldn't find any calculators that support the wmv codec.
