Well I really don't care how the box looks, the idea was just to lower the noise level.

What do you mean? Is the noise a nightmare?

Nice tutorial, thanks for doing it in pagemaker, it's always hard to read the html tuts at 5:00 a.m.

I wouldn't put a fan on top of my xbox though. I wish it would fit on the inside of the cover.

There's a neater way to remove the jewel. I've used the hairdryer method and that works very well. Jewel is 100% undamaged and now you can dremel out the hole from topside, leaving an edge to support the jewel on reentry!

I realy don't like the fan on top. If there's a thinner fan that (might) fit into the box under the jewel (leave some space for the airflow under the jewel), a ledfan would look nice. Doesn't the light from the fan bother you during the movie?
If you have it stored out of sight, what's the use of a ledfan?

Do not wan't to be to critical. Every idea is a good one. Just don't like this one personally.

definitely nice idea, but a lower profile fan could have been better in my opinion. still kudos for even doing it.

CsHoSi: I wrote it in Lotus Wordpro, not pagemaker wink.gif

Deadbeef: If you read to the end you will find that I replaced the led fan with less noisy non-led fan. I know it doesn't excactly look very cool with the fan on top, but I did not by an Xbox for it to be on display at the Museum of Mordern Art wink.gif The point was to lower the noise and it worked.

Please take no offence. We are here to have fun modding our box and listening to what others have to say.
Replacing the fan with a smaller one and non lit one is a good idea. But I still believe a fan should be in the box instead of the outside.
Drilling through the "unique" jewel send shivers down my spine. It was like watching a horror movie (note: a very good movie)
