I ask this because, all I do is play live on my box and nothing else, and i've heard that u can't play games on live directory off the hdd, so is there a reason i should even get a chip. (I have the money, and soldering skills)

Hmm, aside from being able to play backups online with tunnel utilities, and having a stronger sentimental attachment to your box since YOU took it apart, soldered some stuff, and put it back together, and still be able to play LIVE with your retail CDs just by turning the chip off, there's not a whole lot you'd need it for.

I also hear someone is working on a LIVE! emulator. That could be a reason, but I wouldn't buy on the grounds that someone "may" be able to emulate XBL.

Good luck, though.

Be adventurous you could upgrade the hdd, store movies and games on the hdd - and use the discs only for Live (less scratches) , play emulators and roms, ftp, linux, new skins, And more.
