"debug signed executables" are programs written with the XDK.

Normally, these require patching or use of a special "debug Xbox" to run. The underground Xbox developers will appreciate this feature, as it means we don't have to perform an extra step to run our homebrew software.

Damn, too bad I'm at work right. I'd love to flash this to my PC-BioXX (figures I just put all the screws back in yesterday rolleyes.gif ). Seeing a new Bios is exactly the reason why I wanted this mod instead of the X-ecuter.

More proof that the x-ecutor is not the 'ultimate modchip' and all others are 'inferior'. When there's another BIOS update/release every week, how can you claim your modchip is superior when it isn't flashable?

Actually no a hombrew is cheaper than the x-ecuter. I just find it funny that they "ultimate" all in 1 feature chip is now nothing more than what you can do with a homebrew chip. I wasn't nessarily comparing it to an openbox.

Also easybuy.com has the openbox chip for 49.00 same price as the x-ecuter. But now openxbox is the way to go because you can flash your bios smile.gif while the x-ecuter will be not be seeing any new updates. smile.gif

you can't flash any homebrews, though, unless you take the chip out and put it in a pc mobo or a reprogrammer. right?

Well, yes and no.

Theoretically, you could wire your homebrew to be flashable from the motherboard, but it would be a few extra wires.

Still, I plan on updating my homebrew in the next week or so (heading off to vacation this week). It might make development a bit easier.

The game I'm working on hasn't needed too much debugging, but it would be nice to see some return code values and such; not having a debug set up hasn't hindered me much at all, though. If possible, I'd like to see somebody tweak the debug Xbox apps to work in the retail box (i.e. the networking connectivity so the SDK tools work), but xbepatch and an FTP client have served me well.
