I tried to search this but I got no where.

A couple of days ago I started to get the error that there isnt any recognizable media in the drive. So frustrated like all I could think of is that the disk must be dirty, so I cleaned it. No luck. I have tried a few disks, Music CD's, Movie's and Games with nothing to show, but that error.

Is my drive shot? I haven't tried a lens cleaner yet. What do ya think?

Its probably shot.. give it more time and you may well end up with error codes. (dvd timeout)

In my personal computers, I buy fairly high quality cd rom drives and its not uncommon for me to replace my drives once every couple of years.. depending on how often they are used/abused

the dvd on an xbox is no different, its the hardest working drive on your system.
