Hi All,
i finally got the balls to buy a soldering iron and crack open my box, so far so good, except for loading the M$ dash with my X3 turned off. Here is what I am using.

X3
250gb Upgrade
Slayer's Install with F drive (stealth)

Everything works fine, except for when I try to boot M$ dash by booting with mod chip off. I get error 13. I noticed that there was a file on my original drive called xboxdashdata.17F14D00, but on the dash installed by slayer's the version is different. I think it is 18......something. Could this be the issue? If not, any suggestions?

Thanks

The MS dash tries to unlock the hard drive on startup. Your aftermarket hard drive is probably not locked. The MS dash cannot unlock what is not locked.

Short answer: Lock the drive.

Drive is locked, I believe that is error code 5.

Mine is 13:

"Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed."
