slightly confused with the switches on the banks, i think thats what they're called, i was reading a tutorial and it says about updating the x3 to a new bios which ive downloaded but it says that there is already something on there that takes 1056k so i need to set the top two switches to the right to get the chip to instal the bios to the empty banks, is this correct because it doent make much sence to me, this bit is confusing me.

EDIT:
i also dont get what this flux stuff for soldering is, wot does it do, do i need it????

when you flash yor bios for the first time, set switches 1 and 2 to the right. Then leave them there.

flux helps solder flow easier. It is not necessary, i have never used it, and my installs are fine
