I was trying to flash my X3 w / the Xecuter 3 Bios when my power cut off. It was about 25% done.

What I did was put the bios on the HD then try to flash from there after I pressed the power and eject buttons at the same time.

Did I ruin my Xbox? When I try to reflash, I get an "Unknown Flash! Halting" error.

I really doubt you killed the xbox by screwin the flash up.

TWO most like cures are gonna be

1. hot swap the chip with another modded box and reflash it from the hdd

2. get the external flash programmer for the xecuter chips and flash it from the
lpt port on your pc using x2bm available for download in the down load section of this site by the way. there are several really nifty how to's on how its done, I can reccomend modchip.ca as fast to ship the programmer to you. Just got one in under 24 hours from em canada to florida and they are a trusted site on here as well.

good luck, xternal programmer is a god send for screwed up flash attempts

that is a really nice feature of the x3 having the backup....perfect for new people...its fool proof now...

before i did my first xbox i did a ton of research here...had everything on hand and read through creating bios.bin flash cd, getting my hands on best auto installer at the time...any needed apps, but i see more and more people who just jump into this without doing any homework...its getting very popular to do this , just so a bit of reading before you go about doing the whole mod...save yourself a ton of grief guys, maybe even a few strands of hair lol

Does the Xecuter 2.6 have a backup feature like the X3?
