Where exactly is it on your xbox hdd? Give me an exact path.. I'll load up xboxhdm, doublecheck what needs to be mounted and give you the commands to issue from the linux prompt..

Edit: Does you dash boot? You might as well fix that while you are in xboxhdm.. Then you could ftp it..

That would've been my suggestion, since you have access to the hd, thru xboxhdm, why not fix the softmod, and boot the xbox into a dashboard that supports ftp, and then grab the eeporm.bin from there?

the path is : c:\backup\eeprom.bin and i cant load my dash because my xbox gets error 5 before even reading a game or loading evox dash, because my hd is unlocked. i need eeprom.bin so i can lock my xboxHD in order to load evox dash or a the gamesave (right?).

Ok, at the linux prompt do this:
insert floppy, and hook hdd up as Primary master
At the prompt where you type xbrowser, type these cmds instead.

mkdir /mnt/c
mkdir /mnt/floppy
mount -t fatx /dev/hda51 /mnt/c
mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
cp /mnt/c/backup/eeprom.bin /mnt/floppy

That should do it, although I feel like I'm forgetting something.. Remember linux is 100% case sensitive..
Also, I believe you can tell lockhd to lock your hdd with the eeprom in that location..

You said you made it into xbrowser, instead of typing xbrowser enter my commands.. I think your dir may be /mnt/c/Backup/ but I may be wrong.. Have a floppy in the drive unless you plan on saving the file on the Aether..smile.gif

You might as well copy it to a floppy.. It won't screw anything up even if I made a mistake.. Primary master is what your pc hdd is attached to.. Unplug it and use that connector so obviously your idea won't hurt anything.. As for the lockhd command, I don't even know it off hand..
BTW, don't do anything else with xboxhdm after entering my commands until you reboot.. What I did may interfere with other options that you don't need right now anyways.. After reboot its all normal again..

Yes, it was connected to primary master.. Basically if you plug it in wrong it won't work, it won't hurt anything..
