I have an aladdin live, super aladdin live, and an old school cheapmod programmer. Can I use any of these to flash a custom m8_16 bios? Would I be able to flash it by popping of the sst49lf020a and using the cheapmod programmer? or is there anyway i can modify it to work?

i was using greenprog to flash sst49lf020 chips via the cheapmod programmer.

I doubt 49LF020-A is compatible with 49LF020. The reason why new Aladdin XT can support 49LF020-A is because they reworked the CPLD code. If it is so simple as popping out the old 020 and substitute it with 020-A, all SST mod chips would be shipping with the much cheaper and easier to find -A chip!
