hey guys, i used slayers 2.6. I have a 200 gig HD, unlocked with an xecuter 2.3b pro chip with the 4983.67 bios. Neither does XBMC or XBMP work. They never working after i installed slayer 2.6 on my 200 gig HD. The mod works fine other than that. Everytime i try to run XBMC, i get an error, saying that an xml file cannot be found and that the network plug needs to be plugged in, ive connected it to the network before and no luck. I have tried reinstalling xbmc also using the slayers 2.6 disk...please help me

Its asking for a network cable because its trying to boot the ftp recovery console.

What XML file it asking for, and is it where it wants it to be?

you need to look into the xml file
<xboxmediacenter>
<!-- When using XBMC as dashboard, define home directory here !-->
<!-- and move the XBMC xbe plus this xml config file to C:\ !-->
<!-- Example: <home>E:\Apps\XBMC\</home> !-->
<home>F:\Apps\XBMC\</home>

You need to stop using slayers and learn how to install programs properly.

slayers sucks.

try the beginner tutorials here http://tutorials.xbox-scene.com
the xbmc manual is available here http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de

Yes, youll need to get a copy of XBMC, from where we cant tell you, just look in the usual places, youll want one built this month...say the 11/15/04 build and install it on your XBox. Instructions to do so are abounding in the forums here, so you shouldnt need to post anymore Enjoy.

If you want it for Kai, you will need the latest build.

Since you've been using slayers, you probably don't know how to install apps, so to save you from the flaming wink.gif

Download it (from where we can tell you), unrar the um.... rar, rename the "xbmc-2004-11-15" folder to "xbmc", ftp to your xbox, delete the old xbmc folder and transfer the new one.
Whilst you've got your ftp client open delete the e:/udata/0face008 and e:/tdata/0face008 folders

Edit: I hate my keyboard, unless you hit the keys with a damn bat it doesn't seem to work dry.gif
