I bought a used XBOX from eBay that was advertised as flashing orange/green. I though I could just replace the A/V cable and be fine, but it's actually flashing red/green. So I've got FRAG on this seemingly untouched XBOX. I'm not sure if it had been opened before because the pieces of the labels above the screws were cut off.

Here's what info I have:

XBOX HDD seems to be locked because error 06 occurred when HDD is attached to another XBOX, and I know this is caused by mismatched HDD/EPPROM.

XBOX DVDdrive won't eject during FRAG or error 06 screen, not sure if
this is caused by the errors or if the drive(Thomson) is shot.

XBOX is a 1.0 (confirmed by the open-case version tutorial
and the serial number/manufacture date tutorial).

My hope is to have this be my virgin XBOX for XBOX Live. (I already have a modded XBOX which works perfectly.)

Am I out of luck, or is there something I'm not thinking of?

Any suggestions welcome.

If your other xbox is modded with a chip, you can put the hd from the fragging box into it... run slayer's on it and backup c: so u can get the eeprom then use some type of save game exploit to gain ftp access, ftp backup to your pc. then use xboxhdm to unlock and lock the hd with the correct eeprom. you may also want to check the tsop flash points to see if they attempted to flash it.
