6 - kernel

Cannot unlock HDD this error usually occurs when you install a new hdd on an old xbox mainboard this will not work unless you have the old x-box mobos eeprom take it off the old mobo and install it on the new one or unlock this hard drive and relock it to the system you intend to use it on. This also can occur if the eeprom has been reflashed and lost the hdd code.

reconnect your harddisk to ur pc.
rerun xboxhdm
select to unlock drive
use xboxscene as your password
that should unlock ur harddisk

if you want to relock your hd you have to back-up your original xbox hd. then pull off the bios.bin from the e drive and place in the eeprom folder of xboxhdm. and make the iso.

I have a problem, i do not have or know a person with a working Xbox (who will let me use theirs). Is there any other way of fixing it? BTW I have used a backup of SOMEONE ELSES hdd to XBOXHDM. i would have used my own but the 10gig retail one messed up and is giving error 13 or 14. if i cannot fix the error 6, im figuring that i can (somehow) get the files i need from my retail hdd and use XBOXHDM. Thanks.
