Ive had too many arguements about this. What do you guys think? After you take the poll please respond with what car you have and what your answer was. I believe that people with imports call them Rims and people with classic cars and hotrods call them wheels, but that is just a theory.

I've heard enough of both. I don't know if i really care. Honestly when I think rims I generally think more performace oriented or "better" looking. I hear wheels and think more along the lines of stock wheels. So, I really don't know.

But when you hear about "inventing the wheel" is that when someone put rubber on a cylindrical rock? I dont think so.

No, i am speaking in modern terms.

If you want to get completly technical anything round is a "Wheel". Meaning the correct term for an oreo can be either cookie or wheel.

ok... you started this pole because you said that the term was wheel and not rim and then make that comment?? so inventing the wheel was when someone make something to mount a tire on then??

They are the same but i hate the word rim. It sounds so cheesy. Like it may fall off your car at any time.
