I'm desperately trying to get the original Street Fighter rom to run on Mame-ox, and while it does load, the game stutters to the point where it's unplayable and does not run smoothly. It has been suggested by some on this board that it needs more memory, but I am wondering it anyone has found a way around this.

It runs at full speed or near it with the 128 ram upgrade.

I had no idea Street Fighter 1 required 128 mb's of ram.
So many mame games work perfectly so why would an old game like SF need more ram than a game like K.o.F.?

As I haven't bought my XBox yet I'm not too familiar with this but I'm in contact with two guys right now who both wants to sell me a brand new Crystal Edition XBox with 200GB HDD and SmartXX v2 installed, the only difference between them is that one of them have 128RAM and costs about 30bucks more.
Is this what you guys are talking about?
And if so, is it worth the extra 30bucks?
I mean are there lots of games that requires that much RAM or just Street Fighter for MAMEoX?
And is it confirmed that the game runs smoothly with 128RAM?

No retail game will ever need or be able to use the extra ram.Only emu's and other app's could benefit from it.
The price is good though.

Ofcourse, I were talking about emulators.
Are there lots of ROMS (to be more clear, my bad) that require this upgrade?
Sure, either way 30 bucks ain't too much, I'm just curios.

None that Ive played needed additional ram.
It must be a glitch in the SF1 rom that makes it need more ram.
Not even new roms need it.
Of course.

So basicly I would be paying 30 bucks to play Street Fighter smoothly?
Ah well, it's money that comes and goes anyway I guess.
And who knows, perhaps it'll have some kind of usage later on.
To top it all off, I'm going to try and see if I can haggle the price a bit. smile.gif

its not a glitch, its just the way the game works as is. it does the same in a pc with xbox specs.
