How do you rename games? Is it part of the default.xbe file? I tried renaming the the folder of the game, but obviously that does not work. What do I need to do?

Thanks

there is a program called xberenamer. The name of the game is stored in the default.xbe. I dont know about other dashes but if you use unleashx, you can rename it using that.

i have the same problem.

XBE Renamer takes an ISO and renames the game. what hes looking for (so am i) is a tool that you can put on your xbox that will rename the games already on the hard drive.

for example, i used DVD2XBOX and ripped my sega gt/jet set radio future. however, when i go to "games", it has "Xbox Demo" as the default title. im dying to figure out a way to fix this without FTPing all these games onto my HD, craxtioning them into XISOs, using XBE Renamer, and Qwixing them back onto my HD. sleeping.gif

plus, making your own custom titles for games is shibby beerchug.gif

What are you talking about. Xberenamer doesn't use iso's it uses the default.xbe file. Second depending on which dash you use, you can do it with that. I know that Avalaunch and UnleashX both have it built in.

oh? i thought according to xbe renamer's readme it said to "use on an ISO, no need to unpack/pack your ISO" or something like that.

as for avalauch and unleashx, i have them both, and i dont see how to do it on either. i hope youre not talking about the built in file managers, because FTP access basically does the same thing (aka not work). ill look in their sites and FAQs though.

When i used XBE renamer to change the names so they were what i wanted in the HDD games list it corrupted the default.xbe files. So if you do use it be sure to backup the original default.xbe files when you use it.

Avalaunch allows you to rename some game names, but not others. Don't know why but some of them just won't edit. In the games list, you hit start and slect rename xbe.

Hope that helps.
