I read somewhere that Seagate drives get pretty hot in the Xbox, is it true?
I was gonna buy a Barracuda 7200.7 160GB but should i get Maxtor or WD instead?

I have two 120GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 (put one in my xbox yesterday)

I used to have them both in my computer case and they didn't get too hot.

I have used Seagate 200GB, 300GB and 400GB drives in various Xboxes with NO heat problems. I have also used WD 200GB drives without any problems. I actually prefer Seagate drives. Of the thousands of computers I have worked with in my career, Seagate drives seem to have much better lifespans.

Seagate/WD/Maxtor are all fine for heat and such, if you notice a problem it is probably a defective drive. Just for the record tho I've known more people who've had Maxtors crash/fail/die on them though.
