I know in previous release of XBMC you could take the project Mayhmem skin and use it as a template (xboxmediacenter.com tutorial) back when I knew this I wasn't interested in skinning, now I am.

I just want to try it out, but have no template to work from since the new builds are implimented in the builds.

Can anyone direct me to a tutorial on how to do this (I dont see any images in teh media folder besides the background ones, there used to be all of the skin images in this folder that you could "alter" to your liking)

Any help would be great

Thanks

never been able to find a good tut on skinning.. most of my knowledge came from just playing around with the .xml files.

as for pictures, the ones that come with the skin are all zipped up in the textures.xpr file.. no way to open that back up. if you want to use a picture of your own though, just put it in the media folder and give it a .png extension. easy as pie!

Thanks, I thought that the .xpr file had something to do with it, so to get a hang of it, I just need to change the .xml file. Like when it directs it to an image, say buton.png (from the original skin), then i just change it to my_button.png and put the image "my_button.png." in the media folder?

Thanks again
