ok i have a crystal xbox with tsop flash and 2 hdd's

anyway dont really ever play games on it i mostly use it to store tv shows and movies ect ect

i take it to alot of lans and use it as easy storage but i been going to some lans recently where theres ppl that want stuff off my xbox but i dont trust them with full permissions on the xbox

anyway is there any easy way to set up 2 ftp accounts one with full access and one with read only access i dont care if i have to install a new dashboard or whatever.

Dont know about 2 ftp "accounts", but you may want to put the xbox
behind a firewall, and forward only the
ports for the control connection, leaving the ports for the data connection
blocked. That way the clients will only be able to connect, not transfer.
Then you can open ports as needed for file transfers. However this
setup *may*
lead to the inability to list directories, once connected...but its the only
thing I can think of at the moment that might solve your problem.

I would change the user and pass on it definitely to lock it down and do the transfer from your xbox, that way you are accessing theirs to send it to them instead of them accessing yours.

EDIT: also if you look into this page close to the bottom, you may be able to change permissions of the ftp user in xbmc, that way only one dash has the default username/pass with only read perms and you can give access only while you are in that. http://forum.psxcare...p?threadid=7239
