couple things come to mind...make sure you use patch cable from
xbox to router, not crossover, and is your dash set for dynamic(DHCP)?

Try doing a power cycle on your modem. Leave it off for about 15 sec.
Sometimes ISP's will clone your
mac address of the pc NIC into the modems config file, allowing only
the IP address assigned to that mac address to
connect to the internet. A reboot should clear this out.

also make sure your xbox's ip adress is in fact the one your trying to ftp into. and that the subnet mask does match.

only other thing that comes to mind is check your router. if it has an uplink button try toggleing it into the other position. I had a hub(not router) where this feature was infact backwords.
