hi. biggrin.gif

is this all i need to do ?

clean the d0 and the other points on the MB

dab a small amount of solder on each point where a wire will be connected

get chip ready

reheat the first solder point and stick the wire in it?

the flux will help to keep solder off the MB right? if a little gets on there before it hardens could this be bad?

when i read heat the solder point is this talking about the solder that you would put on it?i pictured touching the MB with the solder pin. thats bad right?

i have a 1.1 and i think im just going to get the X2 lite.

with these sites getting shut down and the guy getting busted it makes me think i better go ahead and get my chip.

its prolly the wrong time i recommend we stop modding, modding is bad it hurts people. Chances are ur gonna say well the x2 pro is legal well guess what!?! Your gonna need to flash it with a bios and most people who have a modchip wanna play backups well guess what!?! if ur bios allows u to play backups its illegeal!

Why buy a console if you can't mod it? biggrin.gif

Yes, soldering is incredibly easy. Just take your time and don't rush and you'll do fine.

Its bloody hard

get someone else to do it for you...they won't
charge much more than the cost of the soldering iron.

Bloody hard? That is so not true. A little practice goes a long way.

Soldering an XBOX is about as easy as it is going to get.... soldering a modchip into a PS2 approaches the bloody hard category because of the MANY tiny connections. The XBOXes connections are HUGE in comparison.

Practice on a piece of crap network or soundcard or whatever first. Read the tutorials and follow members advice. There really isn't much too it.. the only point where it might be easy to screw up is the D0 and if you are nervous about that, use the bottom side one.
