To keep things brief - I attempted to put in a WD 120 gig HD today in my soft modded box. I followed everything perfect, except for one thing... I copied the wrong key down. I wrote down the 32 digit key instead of the 40 digit one and locked the HD with that. Is there any way to unlock the drive (the 32 digit key doesn't work) or will I be RMAing it? Thanks.

You should have no problem unlocking the hard drive as long as you have the password that you locked it with in the first place. Use "hdunlock" or whatever program you locked it with and reverse the process.

The easiest way to do it is to have the eeprom.bin file and then lock your HDD with it.
now to do so back it up with either evox or configmagic.
if you can't access your hdd, try unpluging your DVD drive, then bootup your xbox, you'll get a "no dvd" error; in this time your HDD will be unlocked, hotswapit to your pc and copy you eeprom.bin using "hdunlock". and lock your new HDD with it.

Good luck.
