i recently formatted a 160 gig on a v1.6 using an evox boot disc.
this is the same boot disc i've used to format other xboxes.

this time it only gave me 129gigs on the f: drive.
i checked my other xbox and it shows that 143gigs were given to the f: drive.

What could account for this difference?

Different BIOS. 129gb means your BIOS doesn't have LBA48 support.

You need to flash a bios that supports lba48. Open your bios file with EVtool 1.0.9 and just save. It patches the bios w/ igr & lba48. Then flash that to the modchip.

i have the same hd in my box. i use a 4981.67 bios. i get a 129 gig (f) and a 22 gig (g) partition.
all you need to do is update/flash your bios and it work... you need to know what modchip you use and find the corresponding utility to flash...

Ya as he mentioned though... he has a 1.6 box so for bios all that he can use is evoxm8plus_1.6.bin... so it must be patched. Oh ya.... reformat after you flash.

4983.06, yes it does, its set to F takes up rest of drive (4983.67 is set to F up to 137 and G for the rest)

the bios only works on versions 1.0-1.5 though, not 1.6 or 1.6b
