I offered him a Radeon 9800 Pro as an even trade for the xpod. We started talking and he seemed excited at first that someone was offering him a nice card like that. We seemed to agree on the transaction, after a few questions to each other about the condition of our products. It came down to who was going to ship first.
He was the first to say well, what shipping are you going to use to me. I will send out the xpod overnight after I recieve the card. (red flag)
We both have two references on the scene. Though what set us apart was that I am Paypal Verified, as well has have 100% Positive eBay feedback (100+).
I told him that I wasing willing to ship first. This would only be a novelty for me and its not a big deal if I actually complete the trade or not.
He then he said, well if you ship first, I will throw in some extras, Controllers, DVD Playback Kits, exc I got lots of stuff. (red flag)
Again I told him that I wasnt willing to take that risk. He told me he had to think about it. Today I talk to him and he says he wont ship first, so deal is dead. Which is no big deal. But There were a few red flags that were raised during our talks.
Im not calling him a scammer by any means, he was actually very nice and polite. I would say just pay the extra couple bucks and set it up as an ebay auction for the added security. Or if its a trade like in my case, evaluate the situation before you do anything you may regret.
Wanted that to be out there,
