Question About Plastic

I have a question about plastic. Is there any chemical i can buy that will melt plastic relativly quickly? Prolly in the range of 20-45 seconds?

I know that no acids will melt it, thats why they transor acids in plastic berrels, car batteries are made of plastic, ect. so i dont think that there would be any chemical that could melt the plastic in 20 seconds.

you would have to torch it.

try lacquer thinner....i used that to try to take my jewel off and it ended up melting through the case but didnt harm the jewel

Found this old thread and had to reply..

Acetone melts most plastics, so avoid glue that is acetone based.

A good paint stripper should eat through most plastics....not sure why you would want this, though.

What are you try to melt?

Or are you trying to "weld plastic together" Xbox cases are made of ABS plastic so ABS Cement will actually partially melt the plastic giving it a better bond when it sets up.

Many different plastics reqiuire different solvent to weld so it helps to know what you're melting?

sulfuric acid might do the trick maybe some good old Tetrahydrocannabinol might work tongue.gif
