I have upgraded my standard hard drive to a bigger one and now want to use the old drive in a PC. Is there a simple way to unlock it or do I really need to re-connect it to the xbox and use a utility?

Ok guys, my eyes are not what they used to be (too much gaming maybe?) but I can't find a tutorial that tells me how to use my old HD without reconnecting it to my Xbox and finding some sort of password.

Lucas, your 'here' link is not working

Simple way to format it in WinXP:

Now boot to windows
enter "MMC" in RUN
File-->Add/Remove Snap-in
Click on ADD
New window appears double click on Disk Management
New window, click finish
Click on OK
Click on Disk Management(LOCAL)
then right click on disk 1 and select the first option
now right click on the right box next to the Disk 1 Box
Then click on format, and format it the way you want it, select your partition letter and your ready to go.

I did exactly that; wanted to use my stock 8Gig in a PC without putting it back into the xbox (has 120Gig now)
