Hello there, I've got a few questions if you guys don't mind answering them happy.gif

First of all, I've been told by my friend not to use the DVD remote I have for my Xbox now that it is modded (Executer 2) I was wondering why this is.... Also I have one of the (bloody) thompson drives in my 'box and it doesn't seem to like reading most burned DVDs, is it possible for me to buy just about any-old DVD drive and stick it in there or is it only the retail Xbox drives that work. As far as M$ dash is concerned, I'm not too worried as I have no intention of ever using Xbox live.

Any help on these matters would be much appreciated thanks biggrin.gif

you really don't need the DVD playback kit now that your box is chipped

if you want a new DVD drive, you could buy one from http://www.llamma.com/xbox/

there's certain things you'd have to do if you bought one from the store and unless you're an expert, it's not worth it.

You can just use ur DVD remote. Even works in most replacement dashes. So u can play your divx/mp3 using the remote also.

No, not any dvd player will work. Check teh hardware topic, u can mod certain samsung drives to work with the xbox. Or buy a "spare" xbox drive.

Thanks guys, I think I'll look into the Samsung thing as I had some fairly major problems with a Maxator 120Gb HDD not working properly in the xbox and now I'm down to the retail drive again :-(
