I have a 180gb HDD in my xbox and an 80gb on my PC. I want to switch my PC HDD to the xbox, and the xbox HDD to the PC as I really need the space for the computer.

What all will I need to do? The xbox is softmoded.

How much data is on the xbox hd? Will it all fit, with your OS, onto the 80gig? If so, here's what can be done:
  • Copy everything from the xbox hd onto the 80gig.
  • Unlock the xbox hd.
  • Install the xbox hd into your pc.
  • Create a mirror image of the 80g hd onto the 180gig (not sure what program to do this with)
  • Reboot to the 180gig (make sure it worked).
  • Erase the 80gig and install into xbox. Format using chip/dash/whatever.
  • Copy all xbox files back to xbox.
  • lock the new HD.

You'll need an xbox boot cd. See xs tutorials for how to make one of those. Also, might want to backup your essential data to dvd-rw's before doing this.

That's the best I could come up with. Anyone think of a better way?
