I can get my hand on a bunch of these http://www.walmart.c...4&xsell=3168469

If you read the description they are pretty nice DVD player/Recorder and 80 gig HD. I can them to you for $200.00 + Shipping (unless you live in Vegas then we can do local pick-up).

If you are interested, let me know ASAP, so I can get them. I will be getting a few for Ebay as well and I will post the auction links here. If you have question don't hesitate to ask.

Yes, it does record to the HD. You can record TV shows, VHS tapes, and DVDs to the HD, after doing that you can record them to DVD. It is awsome for the price, considering you get a DVD player, a DVD Recorder, and a TiVo like HD recording system. It also has component out and other stuff. If you want more info let me know.

Later,

Nick

I think he was asking if they Record in High Definition (HD) like HD channels that cable companies provide. They should obviously record to a Hard Drive. I am not interested, just want to help clarify what he meant

Oh, thanks for that. I really have no idea, I would doubt that it is considering that an HD tivo is like what $800? I have not actually even hooked mine up yet, but I will check it out tonight.

If you have any more questions, ask away. beerchug.gif

Does it need anything special like Tivo service or anything? Also, can you use the RCA Gold+ to record the programs?

Oops, I just noticed that I messed up on the title, I meant to say TiVo Like instead of Tivo Live.

No, you do not need any special services. It's like a suped up VCR, except replace VHS with DVD and throw in a 80 gig hard drive.

I am not sure if RCA Gold+ will work as I do not have that, but I saw three different ways to record one required a 5-7 digit code that it said you can get from TV guide and stuff, you can record by time (one time, daily, or weekly bases), adn you can also record on the fly. In each record mode you have like 4 choices on quality, with the best you can record like 16 hours on the Hard drive and the worst is over 99 hours, I was using the second best (which gives you 33 hours) and it looked pretty good.

it also comes with a DVD media, I would imagine its a DVD+rw but I am not sure, because it is an unlabled silver top disk. Oh yeah, it said it uses DVD+ Media.

I also noticed it has a fire wire plug for cameras or camcorders.

Plus I found some firmware on the net for them, making you able to copy any DVDs and also a guide to make them region free.
