Not exactly clear on what your problem is, but you should probably read this anyway: Troubleshooting Game Backup Problems

Sounds like your XBOX just doesn't like your media 100%. I have to do that with DVD-RWs but not DVD-Rs.

I agree it sounds like its your media.

1.What media are you using

2.What DVD drive do you have

Grade A doesn't mean much. I have bought what was labeled grade A and it doesn't read in my PC after burning a disc let alone in the xbox. Buy Ritek or Taiyo Yuden. +R media must be burnt with DVD-ROM booktype for samsungs.

Booktype only matters if you have a Samsung in your XBOX and are using +R media.

The Pioneer 107 doesn't support this option. Anyways Piodata now outsources to other manufacturers, so it is a crapshoot. Do you happen to have a blank one lying around? If so then pick up http://www.dvdinfopro.com and pop the blank in your writer. Select the media ID icon and it will tell you who really makes the disc. The manufacturer and dye are what matter and not the label on the disc.
