I was planning on going with an inverter to connect my Xbox in the car. However, with some of the stories I hear about loud inverter noise, and inverters draining the battery even when turned off, I am kind of turning my attention to a DC-DC solution. Im not too sure, but I believe this product: Apache V.2.0 Plus, would allow me to use a DC-DC PSU. Im still not too sure though. So what else specifically would I need in order to get this going? I really would prefer to turn the xbox on and off manually, as I would sometimes like to use it when the car is turned off. In addition, I would like for it to survive a crank and wouldnt want to have to turn it back on just in case I go to get gas and turn my car off for like 5-10 minutes.
