Yea one of your wires somewhere must be loose. Go check all your connections and make sure everything is plugged in firmly.

never done a mod on it, its a friend of mine and one day it just stoped ejecting it would only be like a month old
and my friends opened it viding the warrenty.

I toke the board out and i saw a screw just sitting there under it all. i have tryed and replaced the front panel with mine and it made no different and mine work perfect on my xbox.

I think the screw stuffed it up and i am wondering if anyone knows how to wire it straigh from the DVD to the front with out going though the mother board.

So far i have spent 4 hours trying everything i can think of ans the only thing left is that its the mother board is the problem.

if you want to bypass the motherboard, you're gonna have to trace the connection from the p/e board all the way to the dvd drive, have fun with that. tongue.gif

what type of drive is it?

only reason I ask is because I have a samsung and 4 other people I know also have samsung drives in their xboxs (all from various mfg dates)

and all of us have trouble ejecting. for us it sounds like the drive is hitting on something when it tries to eject. we have to tap the top of the xbox or the front of the drive to dislodge it for it to eject. other than that the drives all work perfectly...

try the manual eject with a pin...

and then play with the tray to get it to work

I am new here, but I had the same problem. my friend fixed it.. we found out that one of the wires on the DATA cable for the HDD and DVD drive was melted. it was only a little melt and I don't know how that would make it not eject.

I am currently working on a friendís Xbox and I am having the same problem. It is a mechanical problem. The spindle is not dropping out of the way before the tray is slid out. If I put a bit of pressure at the right moment, it will eject. It is getting hung up on the idler attached to the bottom of the cover (the one with the yellow sticker).

Anyone had this problem and found a fix?
