hey i JUST bought a thomson lens- i wont say from who - & they didn't tell me anything about the static point. but i've seen a pic of it. so i just figured i could just "flick" it off. i guess u all kno that was a bad idea. now it doesn't fuction, at all. i didn' even get to use it!! can i pay someone to repair it?????PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM DESPERATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it still should be o.k. as long as you have not damaged the tracks too much. you should use a soldering iron & solder wick to quickly remove the short. i've got one in front of me & as long as you have not damaged the track on the left of the shorting link it should be o.k. if you have ,bend the metal cover genlty up on the right(where the ribbon runs under. & solder a fine wire between the two points to reconect the track. make sure you have the conecting cable for the laser in fully & locked as well.
