Hi ive got a v1.0 xbox with X3 xecuter chip with a 160 western digital drive.
I created a folder E:/dashboards/UIX and copied the user.interface.x.dash and uix.xbe files. Then after my avalaunch dashboard boots i select the uix.xbe and it says loading uix.xbe , but the system just reboots back to the dash. I checked the uix.ini and it look like this..

[Music On Boot]
volume=0.89
enabled=false
[Main Menu Tabs]
Main Tab 4=System
Main Tab 3=Hard Drive
Main Tab 2=Hard Drive
Main Tab 1=Music
[AutoLaunch Media]
Launch On Insert=ask
[Naming Method]
use xbe names=true
[Dashboard Settings]
Current Skin=green
Dash Style=stock
[Network Settings]
XboxIPType=dhcp
XboxIP=192.168.0.4
SubnetMask=255.255.255.0
Gateway=192.168.0.1
FTP Login=xbox
FTP Password=xbox
FTP Port=21
FTP Show Sizes=true
FTP Use Caps=false
[Applications]
Path=apps
Name=Applications
[Dashboards]
Path=dashboards
Name=Dashboards
[Emulators]
Path=emulators
Name=Emulators
[Games]
Path=games
Name=Games

any ideas?

yes, i grabbed the audio and the fonts as well.
been through the readme too.
alot of my symptoms appear to be like the reboot issues described with the M8 bios issue..

I am having the same problem as well.

#1. Launch uix.xbe

#2. wait through Ava's loading screen

#3. Total Reboot of the xbox (back through flubber and everything)

i have tried it with the fonts and audioand without. I have tried launching it from ava and through my bios.

I too have an X3 but my xbox is v1.4 and a WD 200gb

I am fixing to try it with M7.

I will get back in about 15 min . . . ..

Nope. . . . woulndt boot off M7 either

The M7 was looking for evoxdash.xbe so i just renamed (uix.xbe --> evoxdash.xbe) and it did the same thing.

I was having the exact same problems. Than used the updated uix.xbe that works on all versions, you can download from the usual places. It works great.
