I installed a xecuter 2.6ce chip last night and upon turning it on it came up with the flashbios screen. I flashed the bios and it said it completed and then turned off the xbox. Now upon turning on the xbox with the chip enabled it turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off and then finally turns on and flashes red and green.

If the chip is disabled, the xbox boots just fine and I can play games or do whatever.

I'm assuming that the bios I flashed is bad, and I do not have an external programmer to get in and try to fix it. Is there ANYTHING I can do to reflash the bios?

switch the chip to another bank and hope flashbios was on both banks (maybe at a long shot)

It's a 1.6 xbox and flashbios was only on one bank unfortunately. The bios I flashed was x2 4977.

flashbios is spread across both banks of the 2.6 chips.

you could try using an xbox program (such as xflash)

What about the mechassault trick? Can i use that to get in and reflash the bios? Is this basically the same thing xflash does?

Ok, so if I wish to use xflash, how would i go about doing it? There seems to be little information available on using xflash. From what I can tell, I put the bios in the flash directory.

How do I load this onto the xbox though? If I turn the xbox on with the chip enabled, it doesn't appear to do anything except turn on and off a couple times and then start flashing red and green. Does it have to be burned to DVD and ran with the chip turned off?

Any help you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated.
