Find one dead motherboard the same as yours
and take the eprom chip to solder it in yours.
Add a modchip and a new Prepared HD ...

Probably the General Hardware/Technical Chat section..

As to your problem if you are just talking about the EEPROM data then go to the BST section, people sell them there and then flash it to the EEPROM, If the actual EEPROM chip is dead then do what sargos said.

How do i know if my eeprom chip is dead?

When i boot the xbox up it shows me error 05 or 06, depending on if i leave the HD locked or unlocked.

I don't think you have an EEPROM problem but a Hard Drive problem instead. Is your Xbox modded? How are you locking/unlocking the hard Drive?

Well...although your post is unrelated.....i have a related solution for you...if your eeprom is indeed the issue....get a cheap chip.....flash it with flashbios3.03 and use its handy dandy reflash eeprom feature to get an eeprom up and running on that xbox ( if that is the issue)....although it sounds like a hdd issue to me

I was looking for a no cost solution.
What else could cause this problem?

nothing is free in this world today bud.... and 10 bux or so is not a lot to pay to get up and running again. a strong dose of EM radiation could have screwed the eeprom....or static shock.
