1'st time I'm asking a question rather than answering. smile.gif

X3 related.

Am I correct in thinking that if I FTP the eeprom of Xbox A to the Admin folder of Xbox B (and use the eeprom recovery in CL), that Xbox B will then be able to lock/unlock the drive of Xbox A.

I've got two Xbox's w/ solderless attempts that some other "modder" screwed up.

It's been a long time since I've worked on non-working box's.

Any replies appreciated.

ADMIN FOLDER??
NO WAY!!!
You have to use config magic and load the eeprom.bin file onto the actuall xbox eeprom then it will work. or you can use xboxhdm and put the eeprom in the eeprom linux folder and unlock the hard drive with your computer.

When you FTP to an X3 modded Xbox there is an additional "drive" above C, the Admin folder. This is actualyy the X3 chip, you can FTP your bios into the appropriate bank folder and it would be "flashed" w/o doing anything else. There is also a folder for the eeprom in Admin. If you have saved the eeprom to the X3 it would found in that folder.

So, if one were to FTP a different eeprom into that Admin/eeprom folder, then used the eeprom recovery from chip in Config Live, it should "write" over the old eeprom.

Then, I believe, the Xbox could lock/unlock the drive matching the new eeprom.

That's my query.

Not sure if you're familiar w/ the X3 rez.

Or, I could be wrong.

AFAIK no that won't work. It should only restore the eeprom from the one it backed up on itself, on the chip itself not on the hd.

Dude, the Admin folder is the chip, not the hdd, so if you FTP a new eeprom to the Admin\eeprom folder...

Somebody?
