Hello all, I recently tried installing the new halo maps to my modded xbox. I couldnt figure out how to get them to work, so i decided to delete them.
Anyhow, once i did that, everytime i turn my Xbox on i dont get the "MS" at the bottom of the screen anymore, and after a few minuets it goes to a screeen with green letters, saying "please call customer support." Am i totaly screwed here and have to buy a new xbox? or is there some way to fix this.

Well the 07 is a HDD timeout this basically means that the xbox was able to locate the hdd but its not responding. This error usually is a serious hdd malfunction junk the hdd and get a new one. And the 01 - bootldrUnknown check the motherboard.

It might be the 07 b4 doing what the 2 part says check the ide cable make shure it is nice and clean and tight. the if you think it is the 01 check and make sure the mobo ground contacts are not touching anny thing but there contacts .... i had that prob once..... but the error codes i got are from ps2repairpro in the errorcodes explained faq. hope that helps you

did you try removing nd reconnect the cables?

but if you didnt touch it physically, it could be a dead hdd.

Seems that my xbox will start up very randomly now, like once every one or two days, and work perfect, then i turn it off, and it wont boot up again. Think i should still replace the harddrive?

sounds like the hdd is screwed if all hte cables are ok.

When it frags, does the hdd make any funny noises? (not spinning up, clicking, etc)

just to clear it up i MUST be a 07, any bootldr error would just result in a double reboot and FRAG with no video, not an error screen

no, it will just turn on, off, on off, then flash red and green, no video output, so you never see an error screen and you never see the 01 (same goes for all bootldr errors, i think they are 01-04)
