I use Sony AccuCore DVD-R for Video Ver2.0 4x speed I get them for about a $1 a piece...but I'm in Japan so I've got no clue what you can get them for.

Work great on my Phillips...

I also use JVC DVD-R for Video Ver2.0/Rev.3.0 8x speed...they also work well and only cost me about a $1 a piece and work well on my Phillips.

For thompson drives I use TDK ver1.1/CPRM DVD-RW for Video 2x speed.

They work well on Thompson drives.

My Sony DVD+R have been working perfectly fine. But you did say DVD-R so maybe that has something to do with it. I have had great luck with both Sony and TDK DVD+R but I also have a Samsung DVD Drive in my XBOX. If you have a Thompson or Phillips Drive that may be part of the reason too.

I dont know if any of this helps, but my thought is that it could be your DVD Drive. I had DDE problems with most of my Backed up games, but then I got a Samsung Drive, and now I havent had a single DDE problem. Just other little problems in different areas but thats to be expected I think when it comes to this stuff.
