I use my xenium ice in other ppls boxes with a solderless adapter to do certain things like upgrade hdds. Now my current problem is that my chip now when it tries to boot from the lpc it frags and the red led stays on on my chip. Im not sure if theres a difinitve way to tell if my chip is fried or not. My soldering is fine cuz i even resoldered my D0 this morning and it worked. please I reli need to know if theres any way for me to find out. thank you

The problem isn't your d0 it's the LPC. You probably have a cold solder joint on one of the pins now.

The first thing to try if you haven't yet is flipping the recovery switch on the chip and seeing if you can boot to recovery mode.

What appleguru said. I was one of those who sufferred from frag whenver the power was disconnected for too long. Everytime it happened, I opened it up and remove and reseated the chip to get it to boot again. When what I should've done was sign up to this forum and search for the solution, holding down the eject button sure is more convient than opening up and closing an xbox.

Well, if you have another chip, try it. If it works fine then your chips is more than likely fried. wink.gif
