Great Idea For Xbox Live (or The Head Set)

Since we are going to have a headset now. Why not develop an app to allow people to just talk to each other via their broadband connection? Kind of like an IP PHone! I realize this should be in the dev forum, but honestly, that forum doesn't get much attention :/

ya actually it should to to dev section. but anyhoo... ya its a good idea but i'm sure M$ would get on the case faster than they get on the MOD case

Maybe we could use one of those "mini games" that x-box live will use as some sort of a medium to trick the live servers into thinking we are playing a game instead of just talking?

Sounds like a good idea for an Evolution-X dashboard feature.

Since it's sitting there waiting on an FTP connection, it could also wait for a 'call' and also initiate one.

Downside: It may require a special 'certificate' from M$ to link through Live. Underground developers may be shut out from using it altogether.

Why even use live to do it. Just do a direct connect but use the headset for voice commands. I'm sure the SDK has support ready for this?

actually MSN Messenger has microphone/talk capabilities. thats free sad.gif

yeah, and you could almost consider Live to be messenger since it has buddy lists and such.
