you must dump all of xbmc into the dashboard folder(rename dashboard folder to olddash first then copy xbmc to E:\dashboard)
but why not just use it as a app
if you don't like UX then use evox

Ux and evo x are both horrible in my oppinion, xbox media center can launch apps, games, emu's and xlink kia plus the main reason i got my xbox was to use it as a media center smile.gif

So you dont need to sign it? that was my main concern.

Hi there,

It's pretty easy to change the standard dash.

In your e:\dashboard folder are 3 files and 1 folder.

- Leave the folder alone.
- Rename the 3 files by adding "old" or whatever is easy to remember. (so default.xbe will be default_old.xbe etc etc)
- Just put all the XBMC files in that very same folder.
- Done.

* Don't forget to adjust the file: xboxmediacenter.xml to custom fit XBMC to your needs (a simple text editor will do)
* reason for renaming instead of deleting is just a fail safe in case you regret picking a different dash, or desire to revert to 'original'

Fully agreed with InsaneNutter by the way, huge XBMC fan myself. I guess the only reason it's not included on a fresh install is that it won't fit on a standard memory card. (OK, second reason prolly is that people are used to 'Evox' though very outdated by now) (Yes ... I'm fully aware I might be changing the subject to a pro/con discussion about Evox wink.gif )

the reason that the installer has both evox and ux options is that both are needed in the installer (evox for it's backup feature and ux for it's scripting). And yeah XBMC is way too big to fit on a regular mem card. Also As a dash I think evox is pretty stable and easy to use. Yes it is basic but it's more then enough for a dash that you just use to launch games and/or apps.

We managed to get this all working, we just deleted evo x and signed the xbox media center .xbe with the habbi key using ez-xbedump2. we messed up once but the recoverd easily by un installing the softmod and re installing again using jamesbond smile.gif
