I can't find my media center or my xbox games that I download in the Xbox. I have a 400gb hard drive, but still have 90gb left but the file seem to just disappear. I think is still in the hard drive but I can't retrive it. Could someone please help me with this problem ASAP. Its killing me not knowing where the file went. I have the xecuter 2.6 CE, the hard drive is new and the xbox is made in 2003-08-12. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some programs suck with big hard drives. Try using unleashx as from what i know, it works great with big hard drives and can format it all for u, etc.

Get the latest version from the usual places.

did you format one big F partition or do you have F and G, cause if you have one big F that is most likely your problem

I just ran into the same issue. I have a Seagate 400, with 113GB free and it will not copy anything anymore. I only have the 1 F formatted to the fullest. Is there any partition manager out there for the xbox that will allow me to add a G drive, or will I have to reformat? If I have to reformat, what program should I use to do this. Thanks!

Ummm...
Well, I have a 320 gig hard drive in my xbox, and I have one BIG F partition.
As of right now, all is fine.
But I still have 100 gigs free, too.

I was told the new IND-Bio 5003 and a SmartXX v2 will allow 512gig hard drives.
So, what do I do?
I am afraid of corruption.

Do I NEED a G partition with a 320 gb hard drive?
The max space available on f is 297.5 gigs.
Will this be ok using the SmartXX v2 and IND-Bios 5003?

and if I need a G partition:

How do I enable g and get it formatted WITHOUT losing any data on f?????

Whenever a partition is more than 256GB, there will be corruption when the drive gets filled past that 256GB point. Basically, if you have a 300GB or more, you NEED a G drive.

Also, on a 400GB HDD, I thinks it's best to use xbpartitioner to split the F and G drives evenly, just in case your G drive is more than 256GB.

You're going to need a G drive, and you're going to have to format your F drive. The only way to get around this is to not put up to 256GB of data on F. Otherwise, you're going to have to reflash with a .67 bios and then format F and G drives.

I just read that if you use xbpartitioner and format f with 32k cluster size then you can use a f partition up to 512gigs without corruption.

Is this right?

Is there a way to NOT have a g partition but use a 350 gig hd, then?

It is currently the 67 bios. Should I still reflash? It seems that I should just go ahead and reformat using this xbpartitioner.

Damn! sad.gif
I just got corruption by breaking the 256G barrier.
It seems to have hit some directory clusters, since they are empty now.
If I only had read this thread earlier.

Gotta try to save as much as I can, reflash, partition, format and restore.

Damn Damn Damn

I have just recently gotten over this problem so let me try to help. Do not going messing around swapping bios's when there is really no point. THe 67 bios is not a lba supported bios so it will automatically break off at 137 but the problem lies in the fact that you have such a big drive, it would be breaking off at 137 multiple times. What I had to do with my 320 was to reformat it :-( as there was no way of saving the data on the f: with it fully formated to 297gb. I had the corruption with only 30 gigs left and wasn't quite sure what it meant at first but quickly found out. I would use, like some are suggesting, xbpartitioner from xbins and just split the drive making sure you keep it pretty even for sizes. THis is the safest and best choice, it sucks to deal with 2 drives but just setup your dash so you have a program view rather than a scructure view and than you won't ever even think about an f and a g. I actually have to do this again tonight to another 320 that became corrupted.

what do you mean by "split the drive/not using a .67 Bios"?
using a .6 Bios and partition E and F equal?
