Hey guys and gals,

I've been thinking about getting a mod done to my xbox for a while now... I have recently been in contact with 2 guys in my area. One is gonna charge me $50 for an Alladin mod installed...the other is saying $120 for the Xecutioner...The cheaper guy will do it on the spot and i can watch, the other says it'll make him nervous to watch him.

I've been screwed before and don't wanan get screwed again...SO my question is what chip do you guys like the most? The more expensive guy says that his is the best on the market and will not fry (Apparently i have a better chance of winning the lottery), whereas the other guys says that the Alladin is perfectly fine for what I want to do. (play backed up games)

My head is spinning... blink.gif huh.gif uhh.gif Thanks in advance folks.

Did he say Xecutioner or Xecuter?

Xecutioner was a old lpc based modchip,it was a okay chip but charging you $120 for it is insane,if he sayd it was a Xecuter ask him witch one it is,and if its solderless,if it is a solderless order one yourself and install it yourself,it really isnt that difficult,if its soldered and its a X3 its the better chip but at the price he is charging you is insane.

Alladins are generally not a bad thing, except for the clones when you are usin g a 1.6 or 1.6b xbox, except for that there reasenobely stable and very cheap.

Those prices are absolutely insane. I'd look around (check the installers section in the shopping fourms). Hell, I just installed two xecuter 3 chips for someone for $105, and that was including the chips.

For reference:

Sunday installed base ($40)
Sunday BASE + IR ($50)
Sunday BAse-IR Pogo ($60)

The IR allows remote power on/off with or without mod
Remote tray eject
Remote bank switching

The pogo is just the key chain remote for the Sunday IR.

$50 for the Aladdin is considered 'OKAY'.

Anyone who says you can't watch is goofy. Good indication to avoid.

I'd go aladdin unless you have a 1.6

I have an original system. Waited outside all night to be the 1st to get one. So my guess is that I have a 1.0.

Hell, with a 1.0, ask someone to split the tsop, flash it, and add a switch. Shouldn't cost more than $20, and it'll give you the functionality of any 3rd gen chip. You can have two 512k bios banks, so you can essentially enable and disable the mod with a flick of the switch.

If you split the tsop, then you can still use live. As for the $120 guy, stay away, as he will probably wind up splitting the tsop anyways, and you will get ripped. Ask if either can split the tsop without a chip for you...if they cannot, then they are not very professional. Check out the BST forum, as there are plenty of legit people who can do this for cheap (make sure that you are dealing with someone with a good rep though)

The guys I've been talking with are from my area and appear to be the only 2 in my area.

Well, I would go with the alladin, as it is fairly priced, and you get to witness everything as to not get ripped off.
