Wandering if anyone can point me in the correct direction.

I followed the installation instructions regarding version 1.6 for the solderless
xenuim spice. I get all red lights for first power on test, when I cap it with the
xenium face plate I get all lights except for the one which is noted in the install
instructions, Everthing is good! After double checking the install twice i still get
no video and a constant flashing yellow light around the dvd-rom eject button.

Any Ideas.

Xcalibur video chip
samsung memory
should be version 1.6

How can little gold wires damage the motherboard. I can take the mod off and it works. Tested out both xenium spices' that I ordered and both do the same thing.

make sure you get a strong 5 led light up then put the chip on. the chip will light up green if everything goes well.

you could also try flipping the recovery switch on the chip.

Check the allignment with a multimeter, make sure the recovery switch is in the right position.

EDIT: It is more than possible to damage the mobo with a solderless adapter, in fact its as easy if not easier than with soldering. If you thing you are 100% safe with an adapter you are wrong, you have to be just as careful as you would with soldering.

Yes guys it was that little switch, it was shipped not on the black mark. All led light up as per the first power on test. When one puts the face plate on all leds light up except the one that is not suppose to (red arrow) and now I get the green light but it changes between green and orange/yellow (forgot the color). on the front of the xbox @ the dvd rom eject button its solid green, one flash green, approx 27 flash red, one solid green, one flash greeen......27 flash... repatedly. I took the mod off and machine works.

Any other ideas.

Wandering to myself now if this is normal, did not have controller / video cable pluged in only powered on after install?

when you put the chip on and it turns green you should have it. Did anything come up on your tv? You should get the Xenium OS screen.

If you have a magnifying glass, check your wires.. good luck

EDIT: I read that you took your adapter off.. now you need to start at square 1 getting everything aligned perfectly
