open default.xip/file_manager.xap and replace all instances of "NavType" with "RedType".

then open settings_panel.xip/default2.xap search for "DEF Group02_supports Transform" and delete everything above it. paste this at the very top of yr xap.

Pretty sweet gas, great idea biggrin.gif Basically no matter what skin you have on, you're gonna be able to see what file is hilighted when working in the file mangager.

yeah, real world had me in a hurry to post lol. topic should have read "visual fix for file...". the code above makes the hilited type in the file manager always red. theres really no need to ever change its value in a skin, cept the red one, but this works with that skin as well.

Also, the big chunk of code^ makes the panelling look more authentic.

Do you know if theres any other colours we can have?

For example, does "BlueType" give blue?

Or "BlackType" give black?

Is there a way to make the text either dark blue or black?

I assume its somewhere in the skin files?

Correct me if im wrong, but isnt there Black80

I can remember using it in tHc and Lite, but i havnt tested in in UIX. Maybe its worth a shot

yeh there are lots of mats (some you wont find in any xap even) check out the preset.xbx for a convenient list of them.

DJ KooPee - as standard the hilited text in fileman will alway be the value "NavType" which will be the same colour as the unselected text in mainmenu. there is a good reason reason its a bit screwy like that and this is just a cheap trick to make it always red.
