I want to know if there's a way to flash my tsop without soldering, or even opening my xbox, I see a tutorial on Xbox-scene.com but the link is dead. Anyone know how because I have very bad soldering skills. Thanks a lot.

technically there is for a 1.2-1.5, but i wouldnt recommend it, your better off just sticking with a pure softmod or opening it up and learning to solder (thast how i did it)

the tut for flashing the tsop without opening the xbox is very dodgy, it involed feeding some wire through the side vents to make contact between the two tsop enable points...
very dodgy...

there are some things you can use to flash the tsop without soldering, cant really remember any of the top of my head, but its not likely you will have them lying around.

You can use a conducting pen, a rear window defroster repair kit, or conducting silverpaint to bridge the points.

Just use a small brush and paint the connections instead of soldering 'em.

these are all good methods, however they require opening the xbox, if you are adamant against doing this stick with a softmod and leave the TSOp alone

if your are really scared of doing it i would reccomend taking it to someone that has experience , as a mistake softmoding could render it useless unless you have access to a chip

as for the tut without opening it , that was a joke you would almost have to open the box to make sure you got the points and to be able to see properly

on a scale of 1 to 10 that tut gets a 9.5

tsop flashing and soildering the points would be like a 4-4.5

nowadays that is hardly a problem when using uxe auto installers, like krayzie's. I doubt that anyone has failed using his installer.

But if you're smart and backup your eeprom, there's nothing that can't be fixed with Xboxhdm.... even if you don't back it up, you could still hotswap and fix it. Regardless of that, as MrShadow said, using an auto installer will make things simple, easy and safe (although I prefer to do mine manually).

What's that a scale of?

And as far as not opening the Xbox, if your Xbox is more than 3 months old, then the MS warranty is gone, and the only reason not to open it is if you want to pay them $80+ if it ever gets broken, or if you bought an extended warranty from the store you purchased the Xbox from. Otherwise, there's really not much point in not opening the Xbox.

But if you're still scared of soldering, then use a UXE autoinstaller, it's very simple and safe.
